"Pennsylvania Elks Make A Difference"
As we begin the new century, I truly believe that the members of our Pennsylvania Elks Lodge make the difference. We have seen new records set in Major Projects; in National Foundation and other programs. Our Home Service Program has been honored by the Commonwealth and by the Special Kids Network, and our Lodges have built ramps for disabled persons and purchased special bicycles for Police Patrols in our communities. The Soccer Shoot is now a part of our Grand Lodge Youth Activities, and we have a Hoop Shoot that is second to none.
Spelling Bees, beautifying our communities, donating books to libraries, supplying American Flags to schools, building homes for those in need, recognizing students of the month, outstanding scouts and citizens of the year locally ---- simply too many things to list here! These are but a very few of the great works done here in Pennsylvania by the members of our Elks Lodges.
Most of these things have been done without fanfare or horn-tooting, and this is what sets the Pennsylvania Elks apart from other organizations. We have made a difference in many, many lives over the years, and now we will begin a new association year with the same enthusiasm --- all because of YOU, the individual Elk who gives of time, money and energy to make programs work.
I thank you for giving me the opportunity to work with you in the coming year, and we again must give of our resources as compassionate and caring Elks to share with others in Pennsylvania, and by doing that we will indeed make factual the words "Pennsylvania Elks Make A Difference."
Fraternally,
Joe
